HOMEMADE ICE POPS

6.30.2014

I really love ice cream & ice lollies, especially the ones with chocolat :), but I know they are not that healthy. So I decided to make my own ice pops, now I can make them as healthy as I want to. Yesterday I made these mango ice lollies. You only need a mango, some water and a blender. I used 1 mango, 1 banana and a half cup of water. Blend it all together, put it in the freezer for a night and the next day you have these delicious ice pops. Hope you try it & have a nice day today!

LUNCH IN SURI

4.23.2014

Probably you are already eating dinner at this moment, but because of the time difference it's lunch time in Suriname. I had a quite and relaxing morning, because my sister and her friend are all working today. So I made myself this simpel but delicious lunch. It's called 'wentelteefjes' in dutch and I drank some mango juice with it. You make wentelteefjes with bread, eggs and milk. You need 1 egg for 2 slices of bread. First you need to whisk the egg into a bowl, then put some milk into another bowl. Then put a slice of bread into the egg mixture and the last step is to put that slice of bread into the milk. Now bake this slice of bread in a pan until it's gold brown. You can put everything on the wentelteefjes, personally I like some fruit on my wentelteefjes. But today I only had some sugar for a sweeter taste. Have a nice day!

APPLE PIE

3.16.2014

Goodevening! As you could read yesterday, I had a baked apple pie. Today I will give you the recipe of this delicious pie:). Hope you like it & have a nice evening!

Ingredients
for the apple mixture
1 kilo apples
50 gram sugar
50 gram raisins

for the dough
250 gram flower
175 gram butter
60 gram sugar
2 eggs

Supplies
baking tin
bowl

Preparation
1. Mixture the flour, butter, sugar and 1 1/2 of the egg (the other 1/2 you need
when the pie is finished) all together. I like to mixture it with my hand, but you can
also use a mixer. Mixture it to a smooth dough
2.  Now you take a little bit of butter to grease the baking dishes
3. Preheat the oven on 175 degrees
4. Roll out 3/4 of the dough and cover the bottom and sides of
the greased baking tin with the dough.
5. Now you can put the baking into the fridge
6. Wash the raisins and just let them dry again, the raisins must be dry before
you add themto the dough. This because otherwise you're apple mixture
will be wet and that's not good for your pie
7. Cut the apples into little pieces and mix this in a bowl with the sugar and raisins
8. Put the mixture into the baking tin with the dough
9. Now roll the remaining dough (1/4) out and cut it into thin stips
10. Cover the pie with the strips, it's best to crosswise lay the strips
on the pie. Press the edges of the dough strips into the dough.
11. Brush the remaining egg (1/2) on the top of the dough,
this will give your pie a nice colour if it is finished.
12. Bake the pie in about 65 minutes in the preheated oven, make
sure the pie is gold brown when baking is finished.
13. Cut the pie into pieces, put some whipped cream on it & bon appetit!

BLUEBERRIES

2.18.2014

Today it's all about the blueberry muffins! Normally I make the muffin mix myself but today I had no time for that. So I went to a candy store near my house and bought muffinmix. You put some eggs, water and butter in the mix and at the end put 100 gram blueberries (for 9 muffins) into the mixture. A little secret is that if you put the blueberries into a bowl with a little bit of flour before putting them into the mixture. Then the blueberries won't sink to the bottum and it also prevents that the muffins become completely purple. Now put the muffins for about 20 minutes in the oven and you have these beautiful & delicious blueberry muffins, bon appetit!
